Getting Started Using the Krotos Studio Panel in Premiere

June 15, 2026

Welcome to the Krotos Studio Premiere Panel

This is a new version of Krotos Studio that runs directly inside Adobe Premiere. It works differently to the standalone and plugin versions of Krotos Studio. Instead of creating a sound effect in a UI, dragging the file to your timeline and syncing it by hand, you select a region of your timeline that includes video, and sound effects are selected and synced automatically on the timeline.

Once they are on the timeline, you can swap them for other sound effects of the same element, for something more appropriate to your vision, all while maintaining the sync.

This is powered by our Video to Sound technology and our vast library of high-quality, royalty-free sound effects recorded by some of the world's best sound designers.

The panel is AI-assisted. It does NOT use generative AI to create or synthesise audio.

What you can do with the panel

For the Beta, you can choose a number of different elements for a scene:

  • Ambiences
  • Whooshes
  • Transition
  • Risers
  • Impacts
  • Cloth

These are automatically chosen, downloaded and synced based on the region of video you've selected.

Footsteps are not yet complete, but they will arrive in the panel very soon.

Note: Ambiences must be selected in this version. They are locked for the first version of the beta.

  • Hit "Analyse and Render". Your video is analysed and the sound effects are added to tracks in your project.

  • Click an ambience clip to adjust its level, or delete it.
  • Try analysing Whooshes, Risers or Impacts. Once they land on the timeline, you can swap them for other assets to fit what you have in mind. At the Edit Results screen, choose Whooshes, choose a category and intensity, and hit "Re-roll whooshes with selected category". You will swap the assets and keep the sync.

What you can customise using the panel

For some of these elements, you can re-roll or swap assets on the timeline while keeping the sync.

Note: Ambiences and Cloth cannot be customised at this time.

For Whooshes, Risers and Impacts, you can re-roll or swap out assets.

Use the category and intensity options to select a direction, then hit Re-roll to swap the assets.

FAQ

Is the Premiere panel generative AI?

No. All our use of AI is assistive, not generative. We use real, high-quality recordings made by our sound designers. We use AI to decide which sound effects to choose, combine and add to your project. Nothing is generated or synthesised.

Footsteps are marked as Coming Soon. What's the ETA?

We are working on a game-changing solution for footsteps. It should arrive very soon.

How many times can I analyse?

For the Beta, there is a fixed limit. You can analyse different numbers of regions based on your plan (this also applies to the beta):

  • Free plans (account only, no active subscription): 10 analyses
  • Krotos Studio: 10 analyses
  • Krotos Studio Pro: 100 analyses
  • Krotos Studio Max: 200 analyses

Where are the files and assets stored?

Assets are stored in a persistent folder, but not in the project folder for the time being.

  • Example macOS path: /Users/{user}/Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP/PluginsStorage/PPRO/26/External/com.krotos.studio.videoToSfx/PluginData/sessions/
  • Example Windows path: C:\Users\{user}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\UXP\PluginsStorage\PPRO\26\External\com.krotos.studio.videoToSfx\PluginData\sessions\
