Natural Disasters is the August content drop for Krotos Studio. It adds thirteen performable presets across four areas: seismic events and avalanches, storms and water, shifting earth and sand, and ice. It has been live in the Library view since 5 August for all Krotos Studio and Krotos Studio Pro subscribers.

What's included

Seismic and avalanche

Wrecking Ball, Earthquake Interior, Rock Avalanche, Snow Avalanche. Heavy collapse material, sitting somewhere between structural damage and moving landscape. Earthquake Interior is the one that does the low, building-shaking rumble you need under a room before anything actually falls over.

Storms and water

Tornado, Big Wave, Typhoon. Weather at a scale you can push around by hand, useful for the moment a storm arrives rather than the twenty minutes of ambience either side of it.

Earth, sand and digging

Rapid Digging, Dirt Dig, Dirt Impact, Sand Flow, Singing Sand Dunes. The close, physical end of the pack. Digging and dirt impacts for anything shovel-adjacent, sand flow for shifting terrain, and Singing Sand Dunes for the low resonant hum real dunes make when the sand slides, which sounds far stranger than most people expect.

Ice

Ice Pings. Sharp cracking detail for cold scenes, and a good layer over the avalanche presets when a snow collapse needs something brittle on top.

How the presets work

Every preset in the pack is performable in real time. Load one, hit record, then move the XY pads while the sound plays. The recording captures what you played, so a different movement gives you a different take from the same preset.

That matters for destruction work, where the same source usually has to appear several times in a sequence. Play Rock Avalanche four times and you get four takes, recognisably the same avalanche, none of them identical, without pitch-shifting a file or burying a second layer underneath to hide the repeat.

The presets are mixed and finished, so they go into the timeline as they are.
